New Tianfu City is located within the south industrial park of Chengdu HI-tech Zone. It has a planned area of 37.5 km2, with a total construction area of 65 million m2 (among which 34.5 million m2, or 53% of the total, for administration, scientific research, finance, and commercial use). At completion of this project, 600,000 people will be working in this area (of whom 200,000 to 300,000 in the software and service outsourcing industry), and 600,000 people living there.
Labeled as "A city of IT and the new center of Chengdu", New Tianfu City will be a city of science and technology, a city of business, as well as a suitable place for living. The city is dedicated to develop the software and service outsourcing industry into the most competitive, representative, and strategic industry of Chengdu, and build Chengdu into the base for well-known domestic and foreign software enterprises, the production center of international software products, and home for domestic and foreign software talents.
